Having your jewellery insured is an important safeguard — a “just in case” protection for life’s unexpected moments. We recommend having your jewellery appraised, and then re-appraised every seven years, to ensure your insurance reflects the most accurate and up-to-date value.

A complete appraisal includes:

• A detailed image of your item

• A description of the materials, including karat of gold or other metals

• The shape, cut, clarity, and total carat weight of any gemstones

• An estimated replacement value of your jewellery

• A signed certification from a qualified gemologist, complete with the appraisal date
