For nearly four decades, our family has had the privilege of helping our community celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. What began in the mid-1980s as a small jewellery shop on Main Street has grown into Halton’s trusted destination for fine jewellery, custom design, and expert repairs — still family-owned, still community-driven, and still dedicated to exceptional craftsmanship.

Our Family Story

Our journey began in 1986, when the Schaffer family opened The Genuine Gold Connection, a small shop specializing in gold chains and charms. In 1989, Anita and Max Mangotich purchased the store and began expanding its services, introducing full jewellery repair, custom work, and a curated selection of fine pieces. Anita ran the store with warmth and care, working alongside her son Mike, a skilled jeweller and goldsmith. Together, they built a reputation for quality, trust, and personal service.

When Anita retired in 2014, she passed the business down to her son, Stephen — the next generation to proudly carry on the family legacy. With deep respect for their parents’ vision, they continued to grow the business while bringing in modern touches, including new luxury brands and contemporary custom design offerings. Their commitment to quality, service, and community remains at the heart of everything we do.

Evolving Into The Vault

With the rebrand to The Vault Fine Jewellery & Repair, we expanded our collection to include fine gold and silver jewellery, Canadian diamonds, and a variety of well-loved brand-name lines — while maintaining the same trusted, family-run atmosphere our customers have known for decades.

Despite our growth, our values haven’t changed. We still greet customers by name, still believe in honest craftsmanship, and still treat every piece of jewellery — whether a simple repair or a one-of-a-kind design — with the utmost care.
